Welcome back!

Welcome back after the Christmas holidays! We hope that you have had a lovely time with all of your family. We are so excited to start our learning this term!

Our topic this term is ‘Old and New’

We will focus on changes in living memory. We will look at how stories, household items and toys have changed over time, focusing on the differences between now and when our grandparents were young.

We will look at seasonal and daily weather patterns in the UK and identify the hot and cold areas of the world. We will also look at the different types of animals and how these differ in different parts of the world.

PE will be on a Monday and a Friday afternoon so you will need to make sure to have your PE kit in school on these days. Your PE kit can stay in school to make sure we have it ready for these days.

You will be given homework which will be sent home on Fridays. Each week we will send home a piece of literacy and numeracy homework. You need to bring your homework back in by the following Wednesday.

We will change your reading books once a week and will read together during ‘Group Reading’ daily as well as having an individual read with an adult.

Always remember to bring your reading books into school with you every day, along with your reading record.

Try to practise at home with your grown-ups as much as you can, this way you will become superstar readers! It would be lovely to hear about books you have enjoyed reading.

We will check your reading records to see which books you have been enjoying with your grown-ups at home! :)

Remember to bring a water bottle into school with you.
